Please join us next time. “Christmas Red and Greens and Gold” Fabric Swap 2009 This is a 10” Square Layer Cake Swap. Sets of TEN 10” squares will be swapped. Nola has graciously agreed to be my Co-Host again for this swap. Thanks, Nola! It is fall in New England. Crisp. Clear. Cool. The leaves are turning brilliant shades of red and yellow and gold and orange. Soon the leaves will fall and then the snow. The seasons are turning in my quilty corner of the world. Nature must be telling me it 'Tis the Season for a new Fabric Swap.
If possible, I will avoid sending duplicates, but swappers with multiple sets should expect some duplicate fabrics. We will again be swapping 10” squares in sets of TEN. You may swap as many sets as you like. Scrappy sets are okay. I will be again making an album so we may enjoy seeing all the fabric and I will ask you to post pictures of your fabric in the thread or email them to me and I will post them in the album. If you do not have a camera, you may still participate, but please check the album carefully for duplicates. I will take a picture of your fabrics and post them when I receive them. Important note … please send only 100% cotton quilting quality fabrics and please be sure that you wash and press all fabrics. Please cut carefully and be sure that all selvages are removed from all squares. Squares that have any SELVAGE showing WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU UNSWAPPED. Also … your sets may be scrappy, but please be sure all fabrics MEET THE FABRIC REQUREMENTS OF THIS SWAP … All fabrics should be “Christmas Red/Green/Cream and Gold” … LIGHT, MEDIUM to DARK … all shades of red, green, gold, cream and white … prints and tonals or solids are all okay … checks and plaids are okay … gold metallics are okay … (I know a few of you do not like metallics and if you let me know I will try not to send the in your swap fabric) … small to medium print motifs should be winter or Christmas themed … such as holly leaves, berries, pine needles, swirls, dots, snowflakes, poinsettias, stars, etc … for this swap please choose prints that only have these colors: red, green, gold, cream and/or white. If you have any questions, about your fabrics please contact me. Here are some sample fabrics …
"Piece and Goodwill" http://www.quiltmaker.com/patterns/details.html?idx=9384There is a FREE pdf pattern for these blocks and a layout for a smaller quilt that includes pink and yellow here … http://www.quiltmaker.com/patterns/details.html?idx=9386 This was a very good issue of Quiltmaker and I love their web bonus free patterns. Please pack each set separately in a plastic baggie with your name and address and Set # on the outside. Please be sure to return and STAMPED self-addresses return envelope. Please only use STAMPS on your return envelopes … no pre-dated postage labels will be accepted by my post office. Please use Priority Mail or First Class padded envelopes. You may send Parcel Post but please be sure to allow at least an extra week mailing time. If you would like a Delivery Confirmation Number for the return package please enclose the extra cost in your envelope. International swappers are welcome. Please send a self-addressed envelope. Fabric may be sent in exchange for your return postage. Just PM me and we can work out a special arrangement for return postage. In the last swap I had to absorb a lot of extra return mailing expenses, including one person who never reimbursed me for her return postage. Any return envelope that does not have postage or special arrangements will not be mailed back until I have received compensation. Most of you are such wonderful swappers and always send extra postage and goodies. {{{{{{{Thank You Hugs}}}}})) To Sign-Up, all participants should please post in this thread and send me a Private Message with your … Name: I have the info for swappers who have been in previous swaps already on file so you need not send again. Okay … let’s start swapping fabrics and sharing patterns! Sign-Ups:

I already have mine washed now I need to cut it and send it on! Although I forgot how much I bought, so I need to measure and then I can tell you how many sets I will be sending! I have to tell Nikki about this one too! She wanted in on it too, when I told her you would be doing one!

Expert Posts: 2781 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: New England | Ms. Cindy ... I like that pattern! I shall have to go dig that issue out of the stack " ...Then I do plan to do a red, green and gold Christmas fabric swap ... like the new Flourish fabrics on pre-order in the shop ... I love that poinsetta print ... Then sometime after the first of the year I will be doing the Batik Fabric Swap, I think. I will probably keep with the 10" square layer cake cuts. These seem to be easy, cost efficient and very versatile. ..." ... so we are all "insiders" I am still planning to do a batik swap after the first of the year ... I love scrappy batik quilts and use small pieces of them in other quilts sometimes, too. Then I think for the spring swap I am going to do 30's repros ... I need a bunch of them to finish the scrappy setting for my BC Favorite Block Quilt and I do not have much in my stash. So here is the scoop of upcoming swaps ... Sherry, Dorian, Annette and Sally ... welcome to the swap!

Susie ... I am happy you are joining us again! Gerda ... I will put you down with a question mark ... you can let me know for sure later ... and I know you are one of the ladies who does not like gold metallic in your fabrics so I will try to keep that out of your layer cakes ... Here is my pattern find of the day ... this little mini quilt would make a nice table mat or wall decoration for the holidays ... and it would look good in these scrappy greens and reds and golds ... http://www.patchalotpatterns.com/ChristmasPunch2009instructions.html Enjoy!
