Location: New England | Jami, very pretty!!! I like your idea for the binding, too. I am yet to attempt one of these ... ... I have pulled out some nice floral and black fabric a couple of times and thought about it ... but you are right ... it is a big leap in faith to cut into that fabric. I did see a very nice one of these at a quilt show. It was pinks and oranges and had one tiny embellishment ... a butterfly in the same colors that trailed out at the lower left-hand corner. I really need to be brave and just do this someday ... Pat |

Location: Central Texas | Jami, well done!! That is so nice! I still haven't finished mine. I messed up the set-in seams when I originally tried to put the border on, and I have to give it another go since I have learned to do those difficult seams. I really love the way your border enhances the actual convergence. It really pulls the eye from left to right. Pat - You really should try this, it is so fun. Ricky's book is amazing and offers lots of different options - this is just the basic idea for a convergence. But then, Ricky is THE MAN!! Jump in Pat, you never know till you try! |

Yes, a blue ribbon is a first. Actually it goes purple = best of show; blue = first place; red = second place and white = third place. I'm just tickled to death with the first place ribbon. Sure not something I expected. You know how you always question your own workmanship?!?
