finished!  here are pics of carter's stocking and wren's that was made by momma.  my great-nephew's (david allen) has the same fabrics as wren's only reversed - green for the body with red toes & heels, green name, same tree button.  aren't they just too too cute?!

Cindy, those stockings are just too cute for words!  Love 'em!

Sadly, no quilting done here today, though some quilt-related activities did take place (washing fabrics, stuffing swap envelopes, etc.).  Can't wait to see everyone else's work!

Dorian, you need to figure out if it's an SD or XD memory card, then maybe we can help.

Cindy - those are just too cute for words!!!!!!!!!! Some traditions are just too precious to let go

Well, the first stocking is in the trash I was trying to do the four patch/Irish Chain stocking from the site Cindy posted, but I picked the wrong colors and the focus fabric really needed to be fussy cut to work - ah well, live and learn....
So, I took the basic stocking pattern and just made a solid stocking with a different fabric for the cuff. Now I just need to cut out the letters (thanks again Gerda) and blanket stitch them to the cuff.

Thanks for this quilty day!!

Cindy - Your Long John's stocking is just too adorable for words!

Char - I just love snowman & they are so cut on your stocking.

Here is a not very good picture of what I was working on today. Then I cut 3 more blocks for my Christmas quilt. I will work on sewing them tomorrow.

char!  i love your pink snowmen fabric!  now you simply must post a pic when you get the name appliqued on.  sorry about the first stocking - but i know what you mean, it's the reason my poinsettia fabric is in the cuff.  i did not want to cut it up for the star block and it would not have looked good as the "background", not like the gold did . . . no sir, not at all . . .

tiff!  the blankie is adorable!  i just know your DD will love & cherish it!  and don't forget pics of the christmas blocks!

Beautiful projects, everyone! I couldn't get back online yesterday after I got home but I found a wireless WAVE this morning :) I worked on my stocking block for BC and have it pieced....just need to applique it to the background block. I'll finish it up this afternoon. I HOPE!
Gerda, I DO love that library... very cozy. It's HUGE, done in arts and craft style. It was an old high school turn library. The city received a large donation from someone who summers here. That gave the city lots of money to spend on it. It's become a tourist attraction in Charlevoix.
Cindy, yes, that's a tote I made from a grab bag I bought at a quilt store downstate. They pack up scraps into plastic bags and sell them by the pound. The lady that makes the samples brings in all her leftover pieces. The store adds those to the scraps that come from the bolts and bag them up. I think I paid 6 dollars for the baggie of scraps and still have some left. I also bought a baggie of childrens scraps. I used some in the I SPY childrens Cat and Dog blocks. I have more pieces I'm saving to make a diaper bag for a cousin that's due this winter.

Cindy, those stockings are just adorable!! Great job on making Carters...oh and love your 'supervisor' too!

Tiffaney, what a sweet thing to make for your dd!! how cool you found the same panel!!

Char, sorry about your first stocking. But your snowman one is adorable!

I got mad that I made the back of mine wrong...so it still sits, unfinished, on my sewing machine. LOL. Will recut today and finish it up.  Hmmm...ok, I will look and see if my camera is SD or X...or whatever. Thanks Ladies .

Cindy - Carter's stocking is beautiful, it is great that you can continue the family tradition that way.  I only made 1 stocking yday but today I managed to make the remaining 11 stockings.  These are the stocking fronts to be appliqued onto white backing for the swap on BC.  I won't be appliquing these till the weekend as the gold rickrack is only available at HobbyCraft in Watford near where my sister and parents live.  I will take piccies then.

Dorian - I looked up your camera on the internet and I think you will find it takes a SD card.  We have a wonderful site here in the UK (unfortunately that sells these cards really cheaply) perhaps you could look online locally.

Thank you Milica. I thought it was an SD, but I wanted to make sure. I'll look online and see what I can find.

Dorian

Amazon (US) have a 2GB for $3.36 - Here we have a company called Play.com where I buy my SD cards and pen drives from as they are really cheap and free postage but I have bought from Amazon (UK) and they have been fine.

Good luck

The stocking for Carter is just adorable!!!

Glad everyone had a good "quilt day"! I was busy working outside, but I'm hoping I can get back to the sewing machine soon...
