Oh, nicely done Pat!! So very soft and elegant!!

Okay, on to the fabric bowls. I will post the link in the first thread to the instructions. I am not re-inventing the wheel here, and I have never made one. So we will all be doing it together! I will also allow an extra hour for a lunch break, as Sammy Joe and I are starved!

I made a couple of fabric bowls a few years ago and they are not difficult at all.   You guys will love doing them. Wish I had time to join in but have to take advantage of the hubby being home when I so desperately need his help to get my plants in the ground. Have Fun Ladies!!!

I have had another interuption, here.

DD called on the phone ... and she invited me to go with her on her Saturday errands.  I love my Sweetie and I never can see enough of her.  I am going to take her up on her offer.

So I will be coming back later to do the other projects.

I have all my stuff laid out and I am just going to leave it here and pick up where I left off when I get back.

Thank you, Jess.  I look forward to doing the rest of the projects.

BBL, Ladies ...  Pat

thanks jacqui!!  glad you can join us in this!

i don't have the insulbrite either - i am using the teflon fabric and some thick (well i think it is . . . ) 100% cotton batting.  it has done wonderfully in these hot pads!!!

Lovely Ladies   Everyone's is looking so nice and pretty!

Jacqui, I don't have any insulbrit or however it's spelled, lol, either, so I will have to wait on the hot pads. I love that they have a place to put your hand inside! I am forever burning myself when I'm in the kitchen   so maybe new hot pads will help. LOL

And Jess, the instructions are fantastic! I love pictures with my instructions, helps me 'read' them better. lol

Thanks Dorian! And Jacqui, I would imagine that you could use a good cotton batting to make hot pads if you have some. Just be careful when using them to get things out of the over, because they may not protect your hands well enough.

Anyone working on the fabric bowls? I am going out of order because I needed to finish up my first placemat for pictures. I made some errors, so it looks a bit wonky, but it helped me figure out the right and wrong way to tell you guys to do it! I am about to put the pics into the instructions and then I will post them. I want to take out some of the seams in this one and fix it up, but I will do it later.

Look for the placemat instructions in the next 30-45 minutes.

jess i am supposing that since the technique is "quilted as you sew", i need to have my singer threaded with machine quilting thread?

That is certainly up to you, I never use machine quilting thread. I always use the same 100% cotton, for piecing and quilting. Whatever you prefer will be fine I am sure.

I am just about ready to post it. I was trying to get ahold of Nawma to give it one last proofread, but I think she is lost in the courtyard again....

Okay, well, on with the show. I have posted three installments to these placemats (I couldn't get it small enough in one file, so I split it up). Use the instructions for the link on the materials page, or mine, or both. I just felt like the other instructions left a lot out, so I wanted to write one up myself. Let me know if you have any questions. I plan to go in and tweak these instructions a bit more, once I do another placemat. I tried a few things that did not work out on this one, ooops!

Have fun and let me know if you have any questions. I am going to grab a bite to eat, I have just been nibbling all day.

I took a bit of a break and hung out with Sammy Joe. I also took out a billion stiches so I could fix my Placemat. Going to try a bowl in a bit, then finish up this placemat. I also need to cut out my pieces for my Lyric block. Hopefully I will have a picture to show you guys soon!!

ah jess - well i got a couple of the placemats cut out - but that's as far as i got . . .i took the "opportunity" between projects to do a little cleaning/packing (almost done!!!  kitchen cabinets are EMPTY!!!! just a few odd 'n ends now . . . ) anyways, got the dust stirred up too too much, so i ain't felt like much of anything this afternoon/evening   - on the bright side caught the end of "must love dogs" love that movie . . . now i am going to take some benadryl and say goodnight ladies!!!!
