Cherie, that is so adorable. I have been so tempted to get that panel as Rachel, now almost 17, loved the Eric Carle books. In fact her first 4H cat cage was decorated with tissue art and segments from his books. It was so cute! I'm afraid the quilt would be for me because she has 'grown out' of it. But your quilt sure has tempted me again!

I have bought the Hungry Caterpillar panel and the coordinating spot fabric for Mia (DGD) and just may take it to the Quilt Retreat I am going to on Wednesday-Monday. A friend of mine paid for the holiday at the start of the year, but is not well enough to go, she said it 'sinful' to waste, so please would I use the place? Not a very long thought process there! The class list is not very long, and we are having Christmas dinner one day and playing with christmas fabrics, so that should be fun. I am excited. One day we need a jelly roll and 1.5yards of background, this is called Sparkling Jelly, no further details. Sounds like fun to me. Will post pics when I return.

American Patchwork and Quilting's Quilts and More magazine has several panel quilts, including Brown Bear - they don't have links for everyone, but maybe take a peek at the magazine next time you're in the store. http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/magazines/quiltsandmore/qam-table-con...

Most fabric companies have free patterns for their panels. For instance, Andover has the Thanksgiving panel and Brown Bear panel (last ) quilts here:

'AlphaBuddies' design is probably what I'd do with Brown Bear (or something similar) but none of my kids are particularly attached to this story (wrong ages, I suppose). Now, Wizard of Oz or Wynken Blynken & Nod are another story!

Wow Cherie!! That is fabulous! Lots more work than what I have going on here!

I heard from Janis and she asked me to post this for her. Isn't it cute? I really like what she did with the centers of her pinwheel stars.

I don't think I'm going to be able to get my geisha finished in time :( I just have too many other things going on right now.

Janis ... wonderful job on your challenge!!  I love the pinwheel blocks and the fabrics you used that were not part of the Sisterhood of Quilters line ... they really help to "pop" the quilt.  WTG!

Well, ladies ... my F&F Sisterhood of Quilters Quilt is done!! I do not have a really good picture of it ... no place to lay it out or hang it up except on a bed in my tiny house and I realized after I took this that the top border is folded down so you cannot see it ... or the pinwheel block I put in the upper right corner.  I will try to get someone to hold it up for me in good light for a better picture of the whole top.  Otherwise, this shall have to do.  I had Jess put together a special kit for me in these fabrics that included the panel, which I had the ladies sign with back fabric pens in Tomball ... this is my very special memory quilt for me to bring back all the warm quilty feelings of sewing with my friends.

I will include a picture of the panel blocks before I sewed them into the border ... and I realize I changed two of them after I took this picture ...

I also took a picture of the left and right side borders ...

and then laid it on the bed ...

I will add this last photo to the album for now.

  Pat

Challenge News!

Well, after a meeting of the minds ... and a request to extend the deadline until the end of the weekend ... and to try to accomodate those who need just a bit more time ...

... and to allow me to be the one to set up the poll after I get back from vacation ...

We are extending the deadline to submit the photo of your completed challenge to Sunday night, August 9th, at 12Midnight, Central Time. !!!!!

I will set up the poll for the vote on Monday, August 10th, and it will be open for voting for one week.

I hope this works for everyone.

Best of luck!   Pat

Oh Pat, well done!! You should send it to me, I have a wall big enough to hang it on to get a picture. Not sure I can afford the postage to send it back though, but don't worry, it will be so cute on my bed!! Snicker, snicker!

And thank you, thank you, thank you for the extension!!
