Each year, The Quilt and Needle's forum participants work together to sponsor two
or three groups or charities that are in need of quilts. During the
year, our patrons donate supplies, time and love towards making quilts for these groups. The quilts
are sent to the sponsored groups as they are completed, throughout the year.
In 2008, we donated more than 50 quilts!!
The three groups that we are sponsoring for 2009 are Harmony Home of Odessa, TX and the
Pine Ridge Native American Reservation in South Dakota, and Operation
First Response.

Harmony Home
A Counseling Center for Abused Children
http://www.harmonyhomecac.org
"Every day children victimized by abuse find their way to Harmony Home. When they arrive, they find caring professionals and volunteers who devote themselves to helping children through the nightmare of abuse. Families find the support and resources they need and deserve. And, most importantly, children and their families find a place where together their healing can begin."

"For every quilt we can send, we know that at least one person will be warm, and will survive the frigid weather, when without a warm quilt, they might become just another statistic!"

If you are interested in helping out with this project, we would appreciate assistance with any stage of the process. That is, if you are willing to piece a top, or piece blocks, or quilt the sandwich, or purchase supplies, etc., we have a place for you. Together, we are making a difference.
